'Aleria', a Bowman 57 Sailboat for Sale
by owner Capt. Alex Blackwell, Licenced Master Mariner
The Bowman 57 is the ideal ocean cruising yacht. 'Aleria' is currently lying in Kilrush, Co. Clare, Ireland, which is close to Shannon International airport. She is EU VAT cleared and has Part 1 Registry Ireland, Reg Number 404492.
'Aleria'
'Aleria' (formerly 'Manic Moment', 'Kestrel', 'Papagayo') is a classic Holman & Pye designed ketch, built in 1976 in the United Kingdom for delivery to the US. She is the sister ship to Roger Swanson’s 'Cloud Nine' which was one of the first yachts to successfully traverse the NW Passage.
'Aleria' was featured in Cruising World - see Quite the Ketch.
'Aleria' is a very comfortable and fast cruiser for crossing oceans, coastal cruising and/or living aboard.
Her classic lines and tumble-home hull never cease to draw other sailors to ask about her. Her balanced sail plan provides many options for maximizing speed and comfort while underway.
Over the past year, she has received new standing rigging, as well as a thorough going over with many minor upgrades to make her ready for her next adventure.
Making great progress reaching under full sail!
