'The Dream', a Hallberg-Rassy 41 for Sale
By owner Rich Lindstrom
'The Dream', my 1976 Hallberg Rassy 41, is in a transferable marina slip in Oceanside San Diego California. She's a classic, beautiful blue-water cruising sailboat with an excellent liveaboard layout and design.
'The Dream', my 1976 Hallberg Rassy 41 is a center cockpit, cutter-rigged ketch
The original HR41 product literature tells us:
- “The Hallberg-Rassy 41 was built between 1975 and 1981 in 105 units. The Hallberg-Rassy 41 quickly became a trend-setter. This was the first boat with a proper walk through to the aft-cabin below deck and the first Hallberg-Rassy with a blue stripe around the cockpit” and;
- “The Hallberg-Rassy 41 is a long distance cruiser with the keel and rudder separated, and among other things a brim around the cockpit, which is slightly elevated, to give room for the passage below deck. The size of the boat and the outfitting was spectacular for its time: Pressured water, heated water, shower, electric anchor winch, headsail furling system, two separate heads, a powerful engine, solid and elegant wooden interior, and gracious lines.”
Please do refer to the Hallberg-Rassy website for sailboat pictures, info, and Data Sheet (and be aware of some of the below changes that have taken place on this boat since 1976, like new motor, diesel tank is 60 gallons, etc). Multiple files and documents are available on the website, gives you a clear idea of what the HR41 is.
